How can I order cupcakes?
You can order cupcakes for in-store or curbside pickup through our website online order system, by calling our bakery, or in person. If you prefer delivery, we offer limited in-house delivery (based on availability), as well as delivery services through Postmates and GrubHub.
How do I know which premium signature flavors you're baking on a particular day?
Every day we feature between 3 and 7 of our 80+ premium signature flavors. We do our best to publicize which flavors we have daily on Facebook and Instagram but since we’re a small staff, sometimes we’re too busy baking to post online. Please feel free to call us at (571)589-8652 to learn what flavors are available. If you’re ordering in advance, we may be able to have your order drive what we offer on our daily menu. Which is why we don’t post a weekly or monthly menu. We want to ensure we’re remaining as flexible as possible to accommodate requests.
How do I store my treats?
Since our cupcakes and cakes contain no preservatives, refrigeration tends to dry them out. They do best at room temperature for up to 2 days. To prevent melting, them away from heat and sunlight. After 2 days—if you haven’t devoured them—it’s best to freeze them in their clamshell packaging. When you’re ready for dessert, remove from the package and let thaw for 45 min. Cake pops can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
I left my cupcake on the counter and now the icing is crusty. Why?
We use real butter in our buttercreams. Real butter results in a self-crusting buttercream as it’s exposed to air. If we filled your icing with shortening and nonsense it wouldn’t crust but it would also leave a weird waxy film on the roof of your mouth. We prefer to keep it real at Cravings.
Are the cupcakes filled?
Most of our cupcakes have some filling in the center. Not filled like an oozy-jelly-doughnut-type filling that’s going to erupt on your cheeks—just enough filling to enhance the flavors and lend to keeping your cupcake moist.
Do I have to have filling in my cupcakes?
We can prepare cupcakes without filling, if you prefer. Please call us to order if you’re wanting more than 6, so we can have them ready for you upon arrival.
Whenever I visit your bakery there never seems to be a lot of cupcakes in the case. Why is that?
We try to minimize the number of cupcakes in our case. Our process ensures we have a visual representation of what we’re offering for the day while keeping our rotation as fresh as possible throughout the day. Our “naked” cupcakes are quite bashful so we keep them in the back. If you see a tag in the case, it takes little time to get your cupcakes ready for you. If you’re not sure about a flavor that you may want, just ask us.
How soon should I order my custom cake?
Our custom order slots are limited. Although we can sometimes accommodate last-minute requests, it’s rare that we have availability with a few days notice. Contacting us as soon as you have an event date usually results in securing a reservation. Call us at (571) 589-8652 to check on available dates. A $50 nonrefundable deposit is required to reserve your slot—that deposit is deducted from your balance.
I need cupcakes for a party on Sunday—you’re not open on Sundays—will they keep if I get them on Saturday?
Our baked goods keep beautifully overnight when stored properly (see question 2).
I’m getting married, do you offer tastings?
We do offer bridal cake tastings for a $40 fee. That fee includes selection of up to 6 cupcakes and a 1-hour design consultation—which is paid in full prior to the tasting date and deducted from your total if you order from us. We have found that most brides prefer the more casual and economical option of purchasing a 6-pack of cupcakes in our bakery and trying them at home.
Do you offer gluten-free or vegan options?
We offer gluten-free chocolate, Red Velvet and vanilla cupcakes, cakes and cake pops. Additionally we carry vegan vanilla and chocolate cupcakes. The cupcakes are baked a few times a week and kept in our freezer so we can have them available for requests. Cakes are available for order only. Since we don’t have a separate kitchen for allergy-friendly baking, we do our best to prevent cross-contamination when baking and preparing. If allergies are a concern, we recommend you use your best judgment when consuming.
Is Cravings Cupcakery a chain?
There is only one Cravings Cupcakery. We’re located in Woodbridge, Virginia off Old Bridge Road in Dillingham Square. We’re a local, small business with no plans to open other locations. We live and work here, as part of the Lake Ridge community, focusing on supporting small, Virginia-based businesses.
Do you have gift cards?
We offer gift cards in any amount (must be $10+).
Do you donate to local charities?
We donate all end-of-day cupcakes to Prince William County homeless shelters. We routinely receive many requests for donations supporting churches and schools. Requests are only considered when the information is emailed to cravingsbakes@gmail.com. Since we can’t support every cause, we do our best to diversify those we contribute to and only respond to those we can support.
